Elizabeth “Lisa” Pretus

Elizabeth “Lisa” Pretus is a Health Law Specialist certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization and a seasoned healthcare transactional, regulatory, and business lawyer. She represents physician practices, hospitals and health systems, healthcare startups, and other providers in a variety of transactional and compliance matters.

With over 20 years of experience, including nearly ten years in-house with a large regional health system, Ms. Pretus’ clients look to her for strategic and practical guidance on a wide range of matters including Stark Law, federal and state Anti-Kickback laws, HIPAA, telehealth, clinical research, ancillary services, physician recruitment, joint ventures, clinical integration, compliance programs, policy development, and corporate governance. She also has extensive experience helping clients acquire, optimize, and leverage electronic health records and integrated technologies, and navigate the legal and regulatory issues related to those systems and the data they contain.

As a health care mergers & acquisitions attorney with experience in health care business integration, she frequently collaborates with her clients to design deals, alignment models, and transition plans that help her clients achieve their short, and long-term strategic goals while complying with applicable healthcare laws. She works extensively with physicians and providers on health care business transactions, entity formation, negotiating and drafting employment, joint venture, medical director, recruitment, and other agreements that comply with federal and state healthcare regulations.
